How to Connect Xbox 360 250GB Wireless Controller with Computer
At one time or another, we have all wished to use our Xbox 360 controllers with our computers but have failed to do so because it seemed impossible. But now, you can easily use your Xbox 360 250GB edition wireless controllers with your PCs. All you need to do is purchase the original Microsoft wireless gaming receiver and make sure that the package includes the Software CD.
Once you have bought the Wireless Gaming Receiver, you just need to install the device to your computer and you will be all set to use Xbox 360 250GB edition Wireless Controller with your PC.
Here are the step-by-step instructions on how to install the wireless gaming receiver:
1- Insert the USB connector into the USB 2.0 port of your computer.
Note: In some computers, the front USB is not a powered 2.0 USB, so in that case you will have to insert the USB connector in the USB port at the back of your computer. Once the unit starts working, a green light on the receiver is switched on.
2-If your windows do not automatically install the drivers; the “Add New Hardware Wizard” dialogue box will appear. Click on “install the software automatically (Recommended)” and then click “Next.”
3-Now if the setup successfully installs the driver, click “Finish” and skip to Step 5 below but if the wizard fails to install the software, then go to step 3 below.
4- Insert the Software CD, included in the Wireless gaming receiver package, in your CD/DVD rom.
5- Follow the instructions given in the wizard to install the setup. After the installation, you would have to restart the computer.
Note: if you misplace the software CD, you can always download the software from the Microsoft Hardware Website. The gaming software section of the website has all the drivers and setups available online for all kinds of wireless accessories and products, which includes the Xbox 360 wireless controller as well.
6-Once the setup is installed; turn on your Xbox 360 wireless controller by pressing and holding the Guide button.
7-After switching on the controller, you need press the connect button located on the receiver. The light will flash green.
8-Now press the connect button on your Xbox 360 Wireless controller located on the back.
The green light will keep flashing on the Xbox wireless controller as well as on the receiver. This indicates that the devices are trying to connect with each other. Once the controller is connected to the receiver, the flashing lights would get stable and would remain lit.
Following this procedure, you can connect up to four Xbox 360 250GB edition wireless controllers with your PC using the wireless gaming Receiver. Similarly, you can also connect your Xbox 360 wired controller to your computer. Moreover, the wireless gaming receiver also allows you to connect other Xbox 360 accessories with your computer as well e.g. wireless headsets.
