How to Disable Lock Screen in Windows 8

The all new lock screen feature is considered to be an interesting part of Microsoft’s new generation of windows operating system, the all new Windows 8. However, it seems like something that creates extra bit of sense on a PC like tablet. Luckily it is quite easy to disable if you are using among those individuals who use to have laptop or desktop instead of tablet PC.

How to Disable Lock Screen in Windows 8

At the first step, you have to do is to open the local editor for group policy by simply [pressing the combination of keys, WIN Key + R in order to bring up the run box. After that, you need to type gpedit.msc and then press the enter key. The below screenshot is suggesting the same, highlighted in red circle.

At the second step, you have to navigate through following folders by simply drilling down into:-

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates -> Control Panel -> Personalization.

I am showing this to you in the below screenshot, the folder personalization is highlighted red in the circle.

Then move onto the next step, just on the right hand side, you have to double click on the setting “do not display the lock screen”.  Screenshot describing the same, as highlighted in the red circle.

Moving on the last step, you need to amend the radio button status from Not Configured to Enabled. Then click the apply button and you are now ready to go….as successfully disable the lock screen in Microsoft Windows 8. Below find relevant screenshot.
