How To Install Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

The latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is not yet officially available for all the Android phones and devices. Although there are unofficial ways of upgrading your Android Device to Jelly Bean, but they are bit risky.

The devices which can be upgraded to Android Jelly Bean 4.1 are (devices which are preinstalled with 4.1 are not included):

 How to manually install Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Firmware Update:

  1.  Download the official Jelly Bean Firmware package zip file for your Android device to your PC.
  2. Connect your Android device to PC and copy the downloaded package file to the root menu of your device’s external micro SD card.
  3. Disconnect the device from PC.
  4. Download file on your PC and extract it when downloading is complete.
  5. Now unzip the downloaded Android 4.1 Firmware Package zip file.
  6. In the extracted folder you will find a boot.img file.
  7. Copy the boot.img file into the Flash_Boot folder.
  8. Reboot your device and hold volume down + power button. It will enter the boot-loader mode. Now connect your device to your PC.
  9. From the flash boot folder, execute the flash-boot-windows.bat file.
  10. Now the kernel in your device will be flashed.
  11. Once it is done, press the power button on your device, choose the bootloader option and then click on recovery. This would enter your device into the clockworkmod recovery mode.
  12. In the recovery menu choose the Wipe data/factory reset option followed by Wipe Cache partition option.
  13. From clockworkmod recovery, click on Install zip from sdcard, then select choose zip from sdcard, and then select the Firmware package file which you copied in your device’s external SD card.
  14. Once the process is finished, your device will  boot running the official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
