How to Use the File History in Windows 8 to Restore Files
The Microsoft Windows 8 has come up with a very new and exclusive feature that is known as the File History. It usually provides you an easy technique to restore your previous files.

The initial thing you need to do if you wish to utilize the file history with a share network. So, actually you need to create a folder and then share it. Therefore, you need to create a new folder with captions of file history.
Now, you must right click on the folder and then selecting the share with option. You need to right click on the folder and then choose the option share with. After that you need to click on the option specific people. Find below the screenshot for the same.
Now you need to type everyone and then just press the add button. Screen image below showing the same.
Lastly, you need to amend the permission, so that everyone has the access to read or write.
After that, you need to switch over to your windows 8 system and then need to launch explorer. Open up the traditional / classic control panel. Here you can find the same into below screenshot.
Then clock on the security link and the system.
Now you need to open up the settings on behalf of file history. Find below the screen image for the same.
Just need to press the drive link on the left hand side of your screen.
Now you will require adding location for your network.
After that you can browse to the shared folder that was just created on the home server then simply press the select folder button.
You have to absolute sure about selecting your network location and then just click on the OK button. It is shown in below image.
Now, you can easily turn on your file history as shown in below image.
So, when press the button turn on, a message box will appear and asking you if you want to advise the location that you recently used for file history to other system users in your own home group as a place save the file on behalf of their history. If you have an established home group then you need to say yes, otherwise you can select the no. file history will now working and set up properly.

You will now delete a file on permanent basis by simple pressing shift + delete. But at the same time created two new files with captions new file 1 and new file 2, same has been shown in below image.
You are considered to be lucky, as the file history can recover your document. You need to recover the document without changing or damaging new file 2 or new file 1. In order to do this, you need to choose the file history button on the ribbon.
This image is showing how you will launch the browser on behalf of file History, and also provide you various versions for the Documents Library.
If you simply scroll back to the any version like 3 or 4 using an arrow that is probably pointing towards back, you will able to see that document as shown in below screenshot.
You can now restore the file by simply clicking on the Blue Orb. Now, the file history will launch the folder and also show the file at there. It is clearly shown in below screen image.
